Job summary

National Grid is seeking a regional SHES leader to shape safety, health, environmental and security practices across electricity transmission substations. You will lead a dispersed team and set consistent expectations, driving compliance and performance improvements across multiple sites and colleagues from Shrewsbury to Norwich.

You will travel regularly in the central region, hold a NEBOSH General Certificate, and manage audits and data-driven improvements while ensuring the best safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading health, safety, environmental and security compliance in an operational setting.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify trends and translate into action.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across teams, sites and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Setting the direction for SHES strategy, culture and performance across the zone.
• Leading and developing a dispersed team of five.
• Championing statutory and internal compliance across electricity transmission substations.
• Keeping critical emergency, fire, environmental and asbestos actions on track.
• Preparing sites and teams for audits and driving alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Turning data and insight into smarter decisions, stronger controls and better performance.
