Position: Regional Sales Manager
Location: North West UK
Salary: Up to £60k basic + commission + car/car allowance

Responsibilities
- To profitably grow sales of metal detection & check weighing inspection solutions across the North West territory.
- The role is primarily a new-business development position: creating opportunities with end users and OEMs, converting those opportunities into profitable orders and building a sustainable territory pipeline.
- Build and execute a territory prospecting plan focused on net-new customers and new opportunities.
- Create qualified opportunities through direct prospecting, referrals, networking, OEM relationships, exhibitions and marketing leads.
- Develop relationships with decision-makers and influencers across Engineering, Production, Technical, Quality, Operations and Procurement.
- Meet or exceed agreed revenue, margin and product-mix targets.
- Prioritise the territory using market potential, account value and likelihood to buy.
- Develop existing accounts without allowing account management to displace new-business activity.
- Identify and develop OEM, integrator and strategic partner opportunities.
- Maintain competitor and market awareness and feed useful intelligence into the sales strategy.
- Understand the customer application, process, product, risk and commercial requirement.
- Work with internal technical colleagues to define accurate, fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Communicate value in terms of product protection, compliance, productivity, reliability, total cost and return on investment.
- Prepare clear specifications, proposals and commercial terms.
- Own opportunities from first contact through to order and handover.
Requirements
- Experience selling capital equipment, automation, inspection, instrumentation or engineered solutions.
- Experience selling into food, beverage, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing.
- Existing relationships with manufacturers, OEMs, integrators or engineering teams in the North West.
- Technical qualification or practical engineering/application background.
- Demonstrable success in field-based new-business development within a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Able to evidence personally generated opportunities and new-account wins, not solely management of inherited accounts.
- Commercially numerate and comfortable discussing value, margin, pricing and negotiation.
- Technically curious and credible in a factory/production environment.
- Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing a geographic territory and travel schedule.
- Full UK driving licence
