Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland is seeking a Regional SHW Manager to provide proactive leadership across Network and support directorates, ensuring compliance with the Safety Management Systems and UK health and safety legislation.

You will lead and develop a team of Occupational SHW Advisers, drive continuous improvement through training and coaching, deputise for the Lead SHW Manager when needed, and foster a positive, safe workplace culture aligned with our strategic drivers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high-risk operational activities on transmission networks.
• Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation including CDM 2015.
• Graduate qualification in Occupational Safety or related discipline.
• IOSH membership with CPD or willingness to work towards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence change.

Responsibilities

• Provide SHW leadership to Network and support directorates to implement Safety Management Systems.
• Develop capability via training, education, support and coaching; report regional issues and best practices.
• Support Lead SHW Manager in identifying strategic improvements and deputise when required.
• Establish and lead a team of Occupational SHW Advisers and embed our Blueprint behaviours.
• Foster a healthy, happy and safe workplace focused on positive outcomes.
