Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Group is seeking a Regional Safeguarding & Safety Officer to lead safeguarding across our regions, guiding teams and turning learning into lasting improvements. You will report to the Head of Safeguarding and Safety and travel between nurseries to ensure consistent practice.

We value professional curiosity, strong judgment, and the ability to support inspections, investigations, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Qualified in education, childcare, social work, health, safeguarding, or related field.
• Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training completed.
• Experience safeguarding children in education, childcare or related settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide safeguarding advice to nursery managers and colleagues, including during inspections and regulatory visits.
• Support investigations into concerns, allegations and incidents with accurate records.
• Escalate complex cases to the Head of Safeguarding and liaise with external agencies.
• Support HR with safeguarding investigations and staff concerns.
• Promote safer recruitment through audits and guidance.
• Work with Health & Safety on risk assessments and safety audits.
• Deliver safeguarding induction and practical training for colleagues.
• Undertake safeguarding audits and monitor improvement plans.
