Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in the UK is recruiting a Nursery Manager for WA5, on-site. You will lead a dedicated nursery team, ensure high standards of teaching, care and EYFS compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

As DSL and SENCo you will safeguard children, monitor SEND provision, manage staff performance, recruit, train, and support progression. You will liaise with parents, Ofsted readiness, and external services in a permanent, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (minimum requirement), including GCSE Maths.
• Proven leadership or management experience in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and SEND.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the nursery team and culture.
• Oversee day-to-day running and ensure smooth operations.
• Lead staff recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, and performance management.
• Maintain statutory EYFS ratios and effective staff deployment.
• Lead safeguarding as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and deliver training.
• Act as SENCo, monitor SEND and implement support plans.
• Build partnerships with parents and external professionals; oversee compliance.
• Prepare for inspections, audits, and regulatory visits.
