Job summary

Valley CIDS AND RELATED CHARITIES is seeking a standalone training and development lead to design, coordinate, deliver, and assess learning across all retail sites. You will drive consistency, support staff and volunteers, and contribute to the charity’s wider retail strategy and performance goals.

The role requires regional travel, strong training delivery skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and health & safety standards. Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of charity retail operations, including Gift Aid and volunteer management.
• Proven experience working within charity retail or a similar background.
• Confident communicator who can engage and develop colleagues through training sessions.
• Experience delivering training, workshops, and presentations to individuals and groups.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital systems; capable of maintaining records and producing reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate training and development initiatives across all Valley CIDS retail sites.
• Lead workshops, onboarding, and regional meetings for staff and volunteers.
• Deliver training sessions across multiple sites and travel regionally as needed.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to enhance performance and leadership skills.
• Maintain training records, competency sign-offs, and progress reports for senior management.
• Support delivery of the charity's retail strategy and performance goals.
