Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to own the commercial delivery of diverse projects from award through final account. You will work with Sales and Projects teams to drive profitability, manage risk, and maximise value across a range of MEP environments.

You will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust financial performance and sustainable outcomes for Johnson Controls.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant QS ready to step up.
• Proven track record on projects ranging from £50k to £10m.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with ability to manage risk.
• Experience within MEP environments.
• Ability to lead and manage complex commercial projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical information clearly.
• Strong problem-solving capability and independent decisions.
• Experience across HVAC&R, Security, Fire Detection/Suppression, or BMS/Controls (preferred).
• RICS accreditation or working towards it (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects from award through to completion.
• Administer contracts in line with company policies and procedures.
• Lead variation management, ensuring timely agreement and maximising project value.
• Prepare, submit and agree final accounts to achieve positive financial outcomes.
• Identify, develop and substantiate claims and entitlement opportunities.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Escalate commercial risks and implement corrective actions where required.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve commercial challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice across commercial processes.
