The successful candidate will support the development of Kerry's process safety management controls, build the PSM System, conduct site Gap Analyses, and develop roadmaps and plans for PSM implementation at sites with process safety risks.

You will also advise sites on Process Hazard analysis tools such as HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, FTA, ETA, and HAZID.

This role involves regional collaboration with global colleagues to implement effective practices. The position will be hybrid, combining home and site work, with approximately 25-50% travel.

Key responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain the Kerry Process Safety Management (PSM) Standard across Kerry T&N sites in Europe.
  • Create and sustain a framework to evaluate PSM gaps and risks across the region.
  • Stay informed about evolving regional and national regulations and standards to ensure our program remains robust and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with process safety engineers at various sites to ensure standard alignment.
  • Build constructive relationships with manufacturing sites and relevant functions, demonstrating good judgment in solving problems and driving improvements.
  • Provide leadership and support in resolving non-conformances on sites, fostering collaboration with regional EHS and operations teams.
  • Develop and review PSM/EHS procedures and documentation related to PSM risks.
  • Work closely with global EHS and Engineering teams, providing thought leadership and active engagement in PSM development.
  • Serve as a source of PSM information for EHS, Engineering, and site teams.
  • Analyze chemical process hazards and recommend control measures.
  • Develop chemical process safety management plans, including Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
  • Coordinate and conduct safety reviews of process equipment and processes.
Qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environment, Industrial Chemistry, or Engineering; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Senior experience in Food or Pharma industries, with specialization in PSM and experience as a Process Safety Engineer at a site.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PSM frameworks and management systems, with proficiency in tools such as HAZOP, HACCP, SIL, FTA, LOPA, and hazard analysis.

Additional skills include understanding of safety standards, chemical processes, risk assessment, incident management, process control systems, and effective communication of safety information. Ability to develop safety protocols, deliver training, and perform data analysis is also required.
