Job summary

Harmony Fire in Yeovil, South West England, seeks a Pre-Construction Manager to lead the Building Fabric pre-construction activity across the South West. You will own the full bid process from enquiry through to submission, delivering high-quality tenders and converting pipeline into won work.

Reporting to the Head of Pre-Construction, you’ll ensure quality, accuracy and competitiveness of every bid. This commercially focused leadership role will manage and develop the pre-construction team,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a pre-construction or estimating management role within building fabric, passive fire protection, fire doors, or related construction discipline.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to price, margin, and identify bid risks.
• Track record of converting pipeline into won contracts through high-quality submissions and relationships.
• Experience leading or mentoring a pre-construction team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients, consultants, and senior colleagues.
• Highly organised and deadline-driven with a busy bid pipeline.
• South West-based or within commuting distance of Yeovil; valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-construction function across the South West and manage the full bid lifecycle from enquiry to submission.
• Produce high-quality, competitive tender submissions for building fabric and passive works.
• Develop and mentor the South West pre-construction team and coordinate with estimating, design, procurement, and delivery teams.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and specifiers to drive Harmony’s growth in the region.
• Maintain live bid tracker, ensure pipeline accuracy, and oversee timely submissions.
• Support handover of won projects to delivery teams with clear pre-construction information.
• Provide market intelligence to inform pricing strategy and business development.
• Enhance processes, tools, and templates to improve submission quality and efficiency.
