Job summary

Harmony Fire in London is seeking an Assistant Pre-Construction Manager to support bid submissions, project pricing, and pre-construction activity across our London portfolio. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will turn enquiries into winning proposals for fire doors, firestopping, compartmentation, and broader building fabric works.

This is a hands-on commercial role in a fast-moving operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a pre-construction, estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial support role within building fabric, passive fire, construction, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills — comfortable working with pricing data, cost summaries, and tender documents.
• Ability to carry out accurate take-offs and quantification from drawings and specifications.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail — able to manage multiple live bids simultaneously and meet submission deadlines.
• Good communication skills — able to liaise professionally with clients, supply chain, and internal colleagues.
• MS 365 proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• London office-based and available full time.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Pre-Construction Manager in the preparation of tenders, quotations, and pricing submissions for building fabric and passive fire protection works across the London portfolio.
• Carry out take-offs and material quantification from drawings, specifications, and survey information, ensuring accuracy at every stage.
• Assist in the preparation of method statements, programmes, and supporting documentation for tender submissions.
• Liaise with supply chain, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and technical information required to complete bids.
• Maintain and update the pre‑construction tracker, ensuring all live enquiries, deadlines, and submission statuses are accurately recorded.
• Support site surveys and pre‑construction visits, building your understanding of scope and specification requirements on the ground.
• Assist with the handover of won projects to the delivery team, ensuring all pre construction information is transferred accurately.
• Develop your knowledge of passive fire protection systems, fire doors, firestopping, and the compliance framework that underpins our work.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the pre‑construction process — including templates, pricing tools, and submission quality.
