Job summary

Newsquest is seeking a driven Telephone Sales Executive to join the offline-based office team in Newport. You will make outbound calls to local businesses, uncover opportunities, and present advertising solutions across digital and print media.

The role is target-driven, with uncapped commission and clear progression paths. You don’t need prior media experience, but sales experience in outbound, inbound, upselling, or lead generation is helpful.

Qualifications

• Some sales experience, including outbound or inbound sales.
• Experience in an office, call centre or customer-focused environment.
• Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone.
• Willingness to learn and progress within a sales role; target-driven.

Responsibilities

• Identify and win new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients across your region using cold calling and outbound sales techniques.
• Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance benchmarks.
• Manage and grow existing client accounts, providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spend through strategic recommendations.
• Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle.
• Build long-term relationships with clients by providing expert advice, excellent service, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaign delivery for new clients.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain a competitive edge.
• Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility, acting as a trusted ambassador for our regional news brands.
