Job summary

Zest Optical, in partnership with a leading ophthalmic lens manufacturer, seeks an experienced Trainer to cover Scotland. This role blends field-based training with professional services, technical support and educational projects within the optical sector.

You will plan and deliver product, sales and retail training to optical practices, educate eye care professionals on lenses, and help develop KPIs around sales volumes and product mix.

Qualifications

• Dispensing Optician qualification is required.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing abilities are important.
• Willing and able to travel across Scotland including overnight stays.

Regional Trainer | Education & Professional Services | Scotland

Zest Optical is working in partnership with a leading ophthalmic lens manufacturer to recruit an experienced Trainer - Education & Professional Services to cover Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dispensing Optician with strong ophthalmic lens knowledge who is passionate about education, training and supporting the development of eye care professionals.

Working closely with optical practices throughout Scotland, you'll plan and deliver engaging product, sales and retail training while providing technical and professional support to customers and internal teams.

The position combines field-based customer training with professional services, technical support and wider educational projects, making it ideal for someone who enjoys sharing their expertise and building strong relationships across the optical industry.

Trainer - Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging product, technical, sales and retail training to optical practices across the South East.
• Educate eye care professionals on ophthalmic lens products, services and solutions.
• Work with customers to develop KPIs around sales volumes and product mix.
• Develop creative training initiatives to improve product knowledge and sales performance.
• Support the Professional Services Manager with projects, presentations and educational content.
• Work alongside the field sales team to deliver customer training and account support.
• Provide technical guidance to customers, colleagues and Customer Service teams.
• Respond to training and technical enquiries through telephone support and field visits.
• Monitor competitor activity and developments within the ophthalmic lens market.
• Attend relevant optical trade shows, conferences and company meetings.
• Effectively manage your diary and territory to maximise customer-facing time.

Trainer - Requirements

• Dispensing Optician qualification required.
• Previous training, professional services, technical or customer education experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Confident delivering training to individuals and groups.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with sales and professional services teams.
• Willing and able to travel throughout the South East, including occasional overnight stays.
• Full UK driving licence.
