Mitie Group plc. is seeking an Area Support Manager to provide operational support across a portfolio of sites in the United Kingdom.

You will work closely with Operations Managers and frontline teams to ensure service delivery, maintain compliance and provide leadership during periods of absence, mobilisation or increased demand. The role requires strong organisational skills, relationship-building with clients and colleagues, and a focus on maintaining high standards of operational

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience dealing with employee relations matters.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyse data and produce management reports.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Flexible approach to working hours and travel.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of multiple sites across the region.
• Provide management cover during annual leave, sickness, vacancies, and emergency situations.
• Conduct regular site visits, audits, and welfare checks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction, and training of new colleagues.
• Ensure all officers comply with company policies, assignment instructions, and legal requirements.
• Support investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management processes.
• Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Assist with rota planning, resource allocation, and emergency deployment of staff.
• Carry out quality assurance audits and ensure contractual compliance.
• Support mobilisation of new contracts and implementation of operational changes.
• Produce reports and maintain accurate operational records.
• Respond to customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure Health & Safety compliance.
