Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking a Lived Experience and Co-production Lead for the Changing Futures Programme. The role foregrounds lived experience across housing, health, local government and VCSE sectors to drive system reform and better outcomes.

Based in Birmingham, you will lead regional strategies, build partnerships, and ensure meaningful involvement of people with lived experience in governance and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and embedding co-production in complex public services.
• Experience working with people experiencing multiple disadvantage or inequalities.
• Ability to provide specialist guidance to senior leaders and boards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional lived experience and co-production function for Changing Futures.
• Ensure lived experience informs governance, learning and system change.
• Provide specialist advice and challenge to senior leaders and programme boards.
• Develop frameworks and guidance to support high-quality co-production across the region.
• Influence policy development, service design and commissioning through lived experience evidence.
• Coordinate the Regional Lived Experience Network and build trusted relationships.
• Support partners to strengthen capability in co-production and participation.
• Produce insight reports to inform decision-making and learning.
