Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting a Regional Research Imaging Lead to drive regional imaging strategy and standardise workflows across the North Midlands, delivering faster access and transparent costing for research participants.

The role provides senior leadership within the Research and Innovation Directorate, building regional capacity, developing business cases and funding bids, and ensuring governance frameworks align with NIHR delivery models.

Qualifications

• Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area (e.g. clinical research, healthcare management, public health, biomedical science, or equivalent professional field)
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in research governance, regulatory compliance
• Formal management or leadership training (or equivalent demonstrable experience operating at senior strategic level within complex healthcare systems)
• Coaching or mentoring qualification
• Active involvement or leadership in regional/national research or innovation initiatives

Responsibilities

• Provide regional leadership, coordination and standardisation of research imaging processes across the North Midlands
• Develop business cases and funding bids to increase regional capacity and infrastructure
• Establish a regional imaging service with clear scheduling, costing, and governance embedded within NHS frameworks
