Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Regional HR Advisor for the Doncaster area on a 6-month FTC. You’ll provide HR and payroll support to site-based teams, delivering advisory services across absence, conduct, capability and employee relations.

You will interact with site leadership in a fast-paced, unionised environment, ensuring compliant, consistent HR practices while promoting employee engagement and business outcomes. A CIPD Level 5 or progress toward it is preferred.

• Extensive HR advisory experience with complex employee relations.
• CIPD Level 5 or working towards it; strong ER background.
• Proven ability to operate in unionised, multisite environments.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced HR Advisor who is confident handling complex employee relations cases? Do you enjoy working in fast-paced, unionised environments where no two days are the same? Looking for a regional role where your judgment, influence, and people skills really count?

GXO is currently recruiting Regional HR Advisors to support our B&Q retail logistics operations in Doncaster and Blyth. This is a key role within our HR structure, providing in-person, professional, consistent HR and ER support across multiple operational sites during a period of integration and change. You’ll be a visible, trusted partner to site leadership teams in the northern region, balancing employee experience with operational and commercial needs while ensuring compliance and consistency across the region.

This role is being offered on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract basis. The hours of work are 37.5 per week, 5 days per week, predominantly Monday to Friday, office hours. Some flexibility will be required; this is logistics after all!

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Provide efficient and effective support to site-based operational and functional teams in HR and payroll across the GXO B&Q network
• Offer dedicated HR advisory services on absence, conduct, capability, grievance matters, recruitment, employee engagement, organisational change, and employment and employee relations
• Support teams in proactively identifying and developing employee engagement initiatives
• Develop and maintain collaborative, productive relationships with colleagues, site functions, and service providers, establishing professional credibility

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Strong experience as an HR Advisor or senior HR generalist with significant ER exposure
• CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards), though strong ER experience will be considered
• Proven experience working in unionised, multisite operational environments
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law and confident application of policies, managing sensitive and complex situations professionally and fairly
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels, highly organised, resilient, and comfortable working at pace
• Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across sites
