Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport our plant and equipment across the region from a home depot location. You will cover for sickness and holidays, and may need to stay away from home in remote areas.

Training for safe loading/unloading will be provided, with NPORS qualification in loading/unloading. Candidates should have Class 2 licence, Driver CPC (35 hours) and Digital Tachograph card, plus strong health and safety awareness and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HGV driving loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment.
• Valid Class 2 licence with Driver CPC and Tachograph card.
• Good understanding of health and safety protocols and how to apply them.
• Strong customer service and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around the assigned region.
• Cover sickness and holidays or provide additional resource as needed.
• Train existing HGV drivers on safe loading and unloading (training provided by RoSPA).
• Be prepared to stay away from home when covering remote areas.

Job description

Our nationwide Plant and Tool division hires a range of equipment including diggers, dumpers and small power tools to companies within the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles, training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading.

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

About You

Applicants applying for the role of Regional HGV Driver should have/be:

• Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment from customer sites is essential
• Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
