Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport plant and equipment across the assigned region. You will operate from a home depot, cover for sickness and holidays, and travel throughout the region, including remote areas.

Training will be provided for loading/unloading, and NPORS qualification will be supported. You will hold a Class 2 licence with Driver CPC and Tachograph card, plus a solid understanding of Health & Safety protocols and excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience driving HGV, loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment.
• Class 2 licence and Driver CPC with minimum 35 hours; valid Tachograph card.
• Understanding of Health & Safety protocols and compliance.
• Excellent customer service and strong attention to detail.
• Training provided for loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment across the assigned region efficiently.
• Base out of a home depot and cover sickness/holidays; travel within region.
• Train other HGV drivers on safe loading and unloading (NPORS-qualified).
• Stay away from home when covering remote areas.

The Role:

Our nationwide Non-Mechanical division hires a range of equipment including crowd control barriers, security fencing, trench boxes, magnetic rail barriers and road plates to companies within a wide range of sectors.

The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles - training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

Applicants applying for the role of Regional HGV Driver should have/be:

• Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment from customer sites is essential
• Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
