Job summary

Protec Fire Detection PLC is hiring an Area Sales Engineer to develop new business and support existing client relationships across South and West Yorkshire. The role requires technical fire detection system design knowledge, site surveys and end-to-end sales process management.

The successful candidate will combine technical competence with commercial awareness to deliver compliant solutions and contribute to regional growth.

Qualifications

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification is essential.
• Understanding of BS 5839, BS 5266, BS 8629 and LPS 1014 is desirable.
• Experience in selling fire detection and life safety systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify fire alarm, EVCS and evacuation systems per BS standards.
• Carry out site surveys, condition reports and system assessments.
• Prepare technical and commercial quotations and tender submissions.
• Produce bid documentation and supporting schematics and drawings.
• Review project specs to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Provide technical advice to clients, consultants, contractors and end users.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region and manage the sales process through to award.
