Job summary

Octagon Group seeks a Regional Field Technical Manager for North England and Scotland to supervise service partners and ensure top-quality kitchen equipment service for professional kitchens. The role covers Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle with two days in Scotland.

You will lead with strong electrical fault-finding skills, customer focus, and communication excellence, reviewing KPIs and training teams. Travel up to 50% and occasional international trips are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in senior service roles or equivalent.
• Gas Safe COMCAT 5 qualification is highly desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport might be required.
• Hands-on service and repair experience in catering equipment or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support service partners across your region (Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle; 2 days in Scotland).
• Deliver technical training and annual service assessments.
• Review KPIs and customer feedback to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and perform customer visits.
• Support installations, technical projects and spare parts enquiries.

What We're Looking For in a Regional Field Technical Manager

• 3+ years' experience as a Senior Service Engineer, Service Supervisor or Service Manager.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills and understanding of gas systems.
• Hands-on service and repair experience within catering equipment, HVAC, automotive, heavy equipment or similar.
• Gas Safe COMCAT 5 qualification is highly desirable.
• Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and using diagnostic equipment.
• Technical qualification or apprenticeship preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
