Job summary

Samuel Frank Associates Ltd is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for a regional patch across the South West and Midlands. You will service and maintain specialist equipment, travelling from home to customer sites with full training provided.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, fault finding and hands-on repairs, with overtime opportunities and a company van for travel. Home-based position covers Midlands and South West regions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ hands-on engineering maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification at Level 2 or equivalent; apprentice-trained candidates welcome.
• Sound electrical or mechanical background with exposure to the other discipline.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
• Experience in field service is not essential; ex-forces or HVAC/thermal equipment experience also of interest.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (≈70%) and reactive breakdown work (≈30%) at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on industrial equipment.
• Complete inspections, service reports and recommendations for remedial work.
• Travel directly from home to customer sites, initially shadowing experienced engineers.
• Work independently once trained, supported by the field service and technical support team.
