Job summary

Samuel Frank is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to cover a regional patch across the South West and southern England. The role is home based with paid door-to-door travel, a company van, tools, tablet, phone and PPE, and full Gas Safe training.

Ideal candidates are apprentice-trained engineers with 3–5 years’ hands-on maintenance experience and a background in electrical or mechanical systems. Travel across the region is required, with training provided.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ hands-on engineering maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification Level 2 or equivalent; apprentice-trained welcome.
• Electrical or mechanical background with cross-discipline exposure.
• Fault-finding skills and confidence dealing with customers.
• Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel across the region.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (~70%) and reactive breakdown work (~30%) at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on industrial equipment.
• Complete inspections, service reports and recommendations for remedial work.
• Travel directly from home to customer sites, initially shadowing experienced engineers during training; work independently once trained.
