This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Trust-wide initiatives, collaborate with colleagues across multiple schools and use your expertise to make a meaningful impact on education beyond a single school setting.

About the Role

Your work will help ensure our schools can focus on delivering exceptional education by providing effective, efficient and customer‑focused services.

Main duties of the role include:

  • support the Head of Estates with the delivery of the GLT estates vision, strategy, and business plan, across GLT schools in the Berkshire and Surrey region.
  • support the Headteachers in the delivery of the educational objectives of GLT
  • lead in the management of GLT’s regional contracts, taking accountability for operational performance.
  • provide expert input into technical reviews and contract interpretation, through holding a deep understanding of the operation
  • support the Head of Estates in ensuring the GLT Estates and Facilities policies, procedures and risk assessments are updated to reflect best practice, ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, and include all relevant health and safety guidance, policies and laws, conducting regular audits to check compliance
  • provide inspirational leadership to site managers and school site teams under your line management, including carrying out performance management.
  • provide support to all estates staff across the Trust, leading by example at all times.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Proven experience in an operational, estates, or facilities management role.
  • Experience managing facilities management contracts and outsourced service providers, including procurement and contract performance.
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering value for money.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, fire safety, statutory compliance, risk management, and building maintenance (including mechanical and electrical systems).
  • Experience in asset and facilities management, including building condition surveys.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including performance management.
