Job summary

Stagecoach Cambridge Depot is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead the East region, overseeing 4 maintenance depots and a fleet of 300+ vehicles, including 30 EV buses. You will ensure safe, reliable operations, champion continuous improvement and support the people across the region.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will drive safety, regulatory compliance, budgets and KPIs, and shape the transition to electric vehicles across depots.

Qualifications

• recognised qualification in engineering.
• Proven experience leading engineering operations across multiple sites.
• Ability to lead a safety-first culture and manage budgets and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles.
• Oversee depot facilities and engineering equipment across the region.
• Promote safety compliance with regulations and standards.
• Develop team capability through coaching and training.
• Build relationships with suppliers, authorities and trade unions.
• Drive continuous improvement and EV transition initiatives.
• Manage performance to meet budgets, KPIs and service expectations.
• Collaborate to improve customer satisfaction and align with CVP.
