Job summary

National Energy System Operator Limited is seeking a RESP Analyst for the South East region to contribute to developing the South East Regional Energy Strategic Plan through robust analysis of the energy system and support to the central RESP hub.

You will work with Local Authorities, gas and electricity networks, NESO teams and external partners to shape insights delivered in reports and slide decks, supporting effective decision‑making and regional planning.

Qualifications

• Ability to undertake quantitative and qualitative data analysis and synthesise insights for diverse audiences
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Experience tracking and reporting on project implementation
• Proactive in raising issues early and managing own work
• Technical understanding or ability to learn energy industry methods and assumptions
• Interest in a whole-energy-system approach and willingness to learn new areas
• Ability to translate complex information into clear reports and presentations
• Curiosity and ability to connect ideas across sectors

Responsibilities

• Lead on individual pieces of analysis, structuring and managing your own work
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of the regional energy system
• Collaborate with RESP regional and central teams and external stakeholders
• Support identification and prioritisation of new stakeholders to engage
• Represent NESO in external communications and maintain CRM records
• Design and facilitate workshops to progress RESP development
• Produce and deliver clear reports and slide packs of results
• Ensure key messages are relevant and pitched to diverse audiences
