Job summary

Card Factory is hiring a fully qualified Electrician to service the UK estate of stores, support centres and warehouses. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, new store installations, and supervise installation teams.

The role requires compliance with 18th edition, PASMA, asbestos awareness, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Based in Chelmsford area with regional duties.

Qualifications

• 18th edition electrical installation qualification with 3+ years’ experience in role.
• Up-to-date training on National Electric Code and BSI codes; knowledge of electrical concepts and safety protocols.
• PASMA (tower scaffolding trained)
• Annual asbestos awareness certification per UK standards
• Good general construction knowledge
• Excellent personal organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making
• Ability to monitor industrial systems and National Electrical Code
• Ability to respond to unplanned / emergency works when required
• Health and Safety awareness including basic First Aid and rescue skills

Responsibilities

• Survey sites to ensure electrical systems are functional and compliant with legislation and to identify hazards.
• Draft electrical installation plans and technical diagrams for wiring including emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Install, maintain, modify and repair electrical systems in buildings and external areas.
• Ensure electrical systems adhere to national safety standards and regulations.
• Supervise ongoing installations and provide technical expertise to teams.
• Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to complete projects.
• Complete work orders and record materials used on the job.
• Carry out remedial works after 5-year fixed wire testing.
• Identify electrical problems and repair them.
• Advise on replacement of aged equipment to prevent hazards.
• Conduct general maintenance and troubleshoot issues with testing equipment.
