Job summary

Ivy Resource Group is recruiting a permanent Electrician to work in Essex and surrounding counties for a leading retail company, delivering all facilities management work across stores, distribution centres and offices. You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems, carrying out inspections and ensuring compliance with current regulations.

The role requires a ECS Gold Card + 18th edition or Level 3 NVQ with AM2; PASMA is preferable.

Qualifications

• Requires ECS Gold Card + 18th Edition or Level 3 NVQ with AM2.
• PASMA training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience on construction projects.
• Must provide 2 recent work references as an Electrician.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical power systems in buildings and external areas.
• Plan layouts, diagnose faults and perform general electrical maintenance across stores.
• Undertake periodic inspections and remedial works to meet current regulations.
• Complete new installations for new stores with shop-fit contractors.
• Supervise and train Apprentices and Junior Electricians.

Job description

Electrician required for a permanent role in Essex and surrounding counties for a leading retail company, carrying out all facilities management work.

What is required for the position?

Tickets: Either hold a ECS gold card + 18th edition or have completed level 3 NVQ with a AM2 qualification

PASMA (tower scaffolding trained) - Preferable.

Experience: Must have 3+ years' experience working as a Electrician on other construction projects

References: Must be able to provide 2 recent work references as a Electrician.

The role:

Responsible for the installation and repair of electrical power systems in buildings and associated external areas. Their main duties include planning the layout of electrical wiring, diagnosing electrical problems and conducting general electrical maintenance across the stores, Support Centre offices and distribution warehouses as directed by the Electrical Manager. Undertaking periodic statutory inspections, identifying and completing remedial works to ensure all installations are safe and fit for purpose in accordance with current legislation. Complete new electrical installations for new stores working alongside shop fit contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fire alarms and Emergency Lighting
• Surveying sites where electrical systems are installed in buildings, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and in accordance with legislation, as well as to identify any hazards or other issues which could disrupt the operation of the premises.
• Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems in buildings and associated external areas.
• Using blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete projects.
• Complete any required remedial works following the 5yr fixed wire test reports.
• Conducting general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment.
• Responsible for supervision and training of Apprentice and Junior Electricians in the installation and repair of electrical systems.

Pay:

£38,635 + Benefits Package
