Job summary

NHS England is advertising for a Regional Director of Nursing Leadership and Systems in the North East and Yorkshire region. The role leads senior professional nursing leadership, supports quality improvement and system partnerships, and oversees the regional quality framework to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Senior or board-level NHS experience required.
• Current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
• Strong understanding of quality, professional regulation and the wider health and care system.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior professional leadership across the North East and Yorkshire region; lead regional and national portfolios.
• Oversee the regional quality framework and support ICSs to focus on quality, safety and patient experience.
• Lead in clinical/professional nursing and midwifery leadership, patient safety, and patient experience; deliver NHS England priorities and The 10 year Plan.
• Deputise for the Regional Chief Nurse as required.
