Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Regional Director - Fire Engineering in the UK. You will oversee and develop a team of fire engineers, delivering large, complex projects across the portfolio in a client-focused environment.

The role suits an established consultant aiming to advance within a multidisciplinary design consultancy renowned for fire safety leadership. Ideal candidates will have extensive UK fire engineering experience, Chartered status or MSc/CEng, and fluency with tools like FDS/SFE.

Qualifications

• Experience in working on fire engineering projects in the UK.
• Extensive experience working in a large, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK guidance documents and standards (ADB, BS 9991/9999/9992, HTM 05-02, BB100).
• Proficiency with fire engineering tools such as FDS, SFE and evacuation modelling software.
• Membership in professional institutions (e.g., MIFireE) or NFPA certifications (CFPE).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of fire engineers, overseeing workload and performance.
• Ensure delivery of large, complex projects meeting regulatory and client expectations.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and national leadership to meet timelines and budgets.
• Lead performance reviews and development plans for staff.
• Mentor junior staff toward Chartership and technical excellence.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and attract new work.
