Job summary

Itec is seeking a Regional Counsellor to deliver one-to-one and group counselling across Bridgend, Pontypridd & Blackwood, working Monday to Friday 9:00am–4:30pm. You will establish trusting relationships, signpost services, and help learners identify barriers to progression while safeguarding and recording sessions as required.

The role requires a counselling qualification, experience with diverse clients, and a driving licence to cover multiple locations in the region.

Qualifications

• A recognised diploma or degree in Counselling.
• Experience of working with young people and adults in a counselling setting.
• Member of the BACP or equivalent.
• To be able to work using an integrated approach.
• Knowledge and understanding of the BACP or BABCP Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of CORE or equivalent outcome measures.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking counselling sessions on a one-to-one or group basis.
• Maintaining and developing external working partnerships.
• Signposting clients and facilitating workshops on well-being.
• Agreeing a counselling contract with each learner.
• Establishing a relationship of trust and respect with learners.
• Supporting clients towards understanding concerns and making decisions.
• Working with external organisations on referrals and talks/workshops.
• Designated Safeguarding Officer responsibilities and duties.
• Recording and maintaining records in line with data protection.
