Job summary

A leading company in the Water/Wastewater Treatment industry is seeking a Regional Construction Manager to strengthen their Construction team. The successful candidate will lead site teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while managing resources across multiple projects. Qualifications

  • Qualification in construction discipline required.
  • Must have essential safety certifications including First Aid and Asbestos Awareness.
  • Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment essential.

  • Manage multiple complex projects and standardize practices across the region.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Regional Construction Manager based within the United Utilities Region, working site-based across the framework.

You will report directly to the Head of Construction and your role will lead and advise the site teams on all construction matters. Provide adequate skilled resources for each project. Support the Operations Manager/Project Managers to ensure all SHEQ, construction programme, and budget requirements are met.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Discipline Lead for all Civils, Mechanical, and FRC/Temporary Works across sites within the region.
  2. Allocate senior site staff to ensure efficient resource management.
  3. Assess individual performance, provide assistance, or enact disciplinary measures as necessary.
  4. Advise & guide Temporary Works Coordinators (if qualified).
  5. Embed the IFE programme within the region.
  6. Review Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies/Procedures regularly.
  7. Provide pre-construction and constructability input to tenders.
  8. Maintain good PR and company image through communication with clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  9. Demonstrate visible leadership and enforce site standards.
  10. Apply detailed knowledge in areas like Asbestos Management, Construction techniques, Lifting, Temporary Works, Excavations, and process safety.
  11. Engage with other regions to share information and innovations.
  12. Challenge programme/productivity through site visits and inquiries.
  13. Manage control over multiple complex projects at various stages, adapting to scope or policy changes.
  14. Standardize practices across the region regarding safety, quality, time, and cost.

Skills/Experience (Essential):

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Level 6 Black Card
  • Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry
  • Temporary Works Co-ordinator
  • EUSR SHEA Water Card
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue) Card
  • Degree or equivalent in construction discipline
  • Client passport (if required)
  • Scaffold Inspection Certification
  • First Aid at Work (3-day)
  • DSEAR Awareness
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Drugs & Alcohol Awareness Training

Desirable:

  • Appointed Person for Lifting
  • IPAF for Managers
  • Confined Space (medium/high risk)
  • NRSWA Supervisor
