Regional Commercial Director – Social Housing Construction - St Albans

Oliver Sanderson is engaged with a global listed business in Europe, a leading engineering company. We are seeking a Commercial Director to lead the UK arm of this business.

The Commercial Director will be part of the senior leadership team, reporting to the regional Managing Director. The role involves full responsibility for all commercial activities, ensuring profitability and cash control.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing commercial risks and opportunities with robust reporting
• Delivering profitable contracts and projects
• Effective cash management and revenue collection
• Conducting profit reviews
• Managing P&L
• Leading, training, and developing the commercial team
• Producing contribution forecasts and cost/value reports
• Engaging with C-Suite and stakeholders

Candidate requirements:

• Experience leading large-scale businesses with a P&L of around £100M
• Knowledge of building legislation, financial, and commercial bills
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Industry experience in engineering, refurb, refit, maintenance, or sustainability in social housing or local authority sectors
