Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Regional Bank Chef to support our homes across the Hertfordshire Region. You will manage a culinary team, develop nutritionally balanced menus, and ensure meals meet high standards within budget while travelling between homes.

The role requires taking on leadership responsibilities, ensuring food safety, and collaborating with Home Managers to deliver exceptional resident dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a busy kitchen.
• Knowledge of health and safety and current food safety legislation.
• NVQ 3 in Food Production or equivalent / City and Guilds catering qualifications / Trained in IDDSI / textured modified diets.
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for approval by the Home Manager, considering dietary needs and keeping records for inspection.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers, maintaining stock levels within budget.
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and the Host team, guiding unqualified staff in basic food preparation.
• Adhere to the Avery Food Safety Management system and maintain high hygiene standards.
