Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the cement receipt, storage and transfer activities across our Derbyshire network. You will oversee regional depots and terminals, driving safety, efficiency and compliance while delivering on service targets.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, GB Cement, you will shape performance, coach teams, manage budgets and collaborate with Transport, Engineering and Project colleagues to optimise assets and outcomes across the GB Cement

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading operational teams across multiple sites.
• Strong track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Experience in safety-critical environments and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing budgets and driving continuous improvement.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Promote Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture across sites.
• Lead and support teams across a national network of depots and terminals.
• Provide coaching and development to staff to reach high performance.
• Ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations in line with standards.
• Monitor performance and implement practical improvements.
• Collaborate with Transport, Supply Chain, Engineering and Projects.
• Manage budgets and drive cost efficiency while maintaining service.
• Support site improvement projects and asset reliability.
• Build strong relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Contribute to the GB Cement logistics strategy and delivery.
