Job summary

MEP Hire, part of the Vp plc group, is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive revenue across Scotland and the North East. The role focuses on major account acquisition, project-level relationship building, and presenting safe, innovative mechanical and electrical solutions.

You will be based in the central belt (Glasgow/Edinburgh) or nearby, with responsibilities spanning target markets, health-and-safety-focused engagements, and collaboration with regional sales teams.

Qualifications

• Recent track record of winning major accounts from identification of opportunity to delivery.
• Experience in the M&E sector with proven results.
• Evidence of new business revenue growth through account development.
• Ability to be product oriented and demonstrate as required.
• Experience building relationships at project level.
• Strong commercial skills and motivation.
• Action-oriented and capable of making things happen.
• Residence in the Scottish central belt (Glasgow/Edinburgh) or on patch.
• Excellent presentation and communication to stakeholders.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Focussed activity around Tier 1 mechanical contractors and associated trades.
• Engage with Health and Safety contacts to present innovative solutions.
• Target principal contractors and regional subcontractors.
• Engage with major regional projects and set targets with regional teams.
• Develop relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
• Introduce key contacts to regional sales teams.
• Maintain transparency of activity via CRM system.
• Deepen product and regulatory knowledge as required.
