About the role.

At McCain, we're on a mission to banish soggy fries and Bring Veg Excitement to the foodservice industry. And that's where you come in!

Working as part of a new and growing team, the Regional Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing the McCain portfolio across a regionally defined and diverse account base of on & off premise independent operator groups. Growing the core McCain potato product range alongside exciting new brand launches in appetisers and plant based, this role will maximise existing relationships whilst winning targeted new business, and building sustainable, long-term partnership.

Reporting directly to the Customer Development Manager, your responsibilities will extend far and wide:

  • Utilising the support of the McCain team, (category insights, marketing, and development chefs,) construct compelling propositions in order to win and grow accounts.
  • Using tools including Salesforce, CRM and Internal Pipelines, identify and prioritise new business opportunities within on and off premise operators sized at 3-30 outlets within profit sector.
  • Demonstrate leadership with best-in class account management including preparation, presentation, customer experience and financial management.
  • Use customer & consumer insights to maximise portfolio mix and secure increased menu space and profitability.
  • Full P&L responsibility for forecasting and delivering results, to include pricing, budgeting, delivering volume and accurate ex-factory sales.
  • Working in partnership with the distributor teams, both internal and external, drive new business and manage existing customers.
  • Attend internal meetings, planned and prepared for customer and regional reviews, communicating with impact to all stakeholders.
  • Playing a leadership role within the region, support the Field Sales Manager as necessary and assume additional responsibilities or project involvement as requested from time to time.

  • The ability to influence, negotiate, and engage like a true maestro. You can build solid relationships and get things done, both within our organisation and with external customers.
  • Salesforce/CRM capability is a plus. If you're tech-savvy and familiar with these tools, even better!

Required Experience

  • New Business Development: Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities is essential.
  • Account Management: Strong skills in managing key accounts and building long-term client relationships are a must.
  • P&L Confidence: Comfortable working with profit and loss statements, with a solid understanding of commercial performance.

Desirable Experience

  • Premium Brand Background: Experience working within a premium, branded environment is advantageous and highly regarded.

Essential Knowledge

  • FMCG Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) food industry is required, with a clear understanding of market dynamics and consumer trends.
