Job summary

QS Recruitment is seeking reliable candidates for outdoor refuse loading roles in the UK. You will operate a bin lorry to collect general waste, recycling, garden and food waste, in all weather conditions. The role requires teamwork, reliability and flexibility across varying weekly hours.

Shifts run Monday to Friday with early starts; temporary contract with pay progression after 12 consecutive weeks and paid bank holidays. Own transport or local living is preferred.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work experience is required.
• Experience of refuse loading is advantageous.
• Own transport or live within walking distance is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect general waste, recycling, garden and food waste with the bin lorry.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions A to Z; be a reliable team player.
• Flexible availability; shifts may be 5 days or 1–2 days per week; may be called in for emergencies.

Job Description

Are you a hands on individual who likes to work outdoors rather then being stuck in a warehouse?
We are expanding our team of refuse loaders to support the local bin collections team. You will go out with the rest of your crew on the bin lorry to collect general waste bins, recycling, garden and food waste. This is a physical outdoor role where you will be working in all weather conditions which can be particularly challenging as we get the darker mornings going into Autumn and Winter. You will be a fantastic team player who is willing to go above and beyond to get the job done and make a positive impact within the local community. We are looking for reliable staff who will turn up to work even if it is awful weather outside.
You must have flexible availability throughout the week, sometimes you will work 5 days, other weeks 1-2 days. Therefore we are looking for someone who will be willing to do full or part time hours varying week on week and also someone who is happy to be called in the morning to cover any emergency bookings.

Duration: Regular and ongoing work available.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: You will be paid £12.71 per hour for this role. This will increase after 12 consecutive weeks to £13.07 per hour. Bank holidays are paid double hours.You will accrue up to 28 days holiday per year, pro rata.We do not offer Visa Sponsorships.

Working Hours: Shifts available throughout the working week, Monday to Friday with start times from 6am. Finish times will vary but you will be a paid a minimum of 7 hours per day.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous outdoor work experience is required. Experience of refuse loading would be an advantage. Due to start times, you must have your own transport or live within walking distance.
