Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for a Refuse Loader to join a frontline service across residential areas. You will collect and load waste and recycling bins onto collection vehicles, following council schedules and ensuring safe, efficient rounds.

This is a physically demanding outdoor role requiring punctuality and team collaboration. Full training is provided, with overtime paid after 37 hours and a 06:00–13:54 Monday–Friday shift.

As a Refuse Loader, you'll be part of a vital frontline service, collecting household waste, recycling, and garden waste from residential properties across the borough. You'll work as part of a small team, supporting the driver and fellow loaders to complete daily rounds efficiently and safely.

Duties

• Collecting and loading waste and recycling bins onto refuse collection vehicles
• Ensuring waste is collected in line with council guidelines and schedules
• Reporting any issues such as missed collections, damaged bins, or contamination
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
• Providing excellent service to residents and representing the council positively

What We're Looking For

• This is a physically demanding, outdoor role.
• A team player with a strong work ethic and reliability
• Punctual, respectful, and safety-conscious
• Previous experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential - full training provided
• Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 13:54

Pay Rate

• Overtime paid after 37 hours.
