Job summary

Stockport Without Abuse is seeking a part-time Refuge Caseworker to be based in a Stockport refuge, delivering practical and emotional support to people affected by domestic abuse. You will help develop safety plans and coordinate with local services to ensure client safety and wellbeing.

You will provide guidance on welfare and housing, maintain professional boundaries, and work closely with IDVAs and Children Support Workers to create meaningful support plans for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in casework with vulnerable individuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of civil and criminal domestic violence legislation desirable.
• Ability to work cohesively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality practical and emotional support to individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
• Develop and implement safety and support plans.
• Signpost to local services and resources.
• Offer mental health support and welfare advice.
• Assist with housing and rehousing requirements.
