Babcock is seeking a Refrigeration Fitter to maintain critical cooling systems supporting submarines and surface vessels at HMNB Clyde, Faslane. The role emphasizes safety, fault-finding and effective teamwork within a dedicated engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in refrigeration within marine, shipbuilding, industrial, transport or commercial engineering environments.
• Experience in engineering maintenance settings.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Transferable skills from other engineering trades may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems, including safety-critical work.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving defects to maintain operational capability.
• Completing repairs, inspections and fitting activities across a range of systems.
• Following health and safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work.
• Identifying and suggesting improvements to enhance performance and productivity.
