Job summary

Babcock International Group is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the Estates Management team at Coulport, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. You will perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, inspection and repairs across diverse site systems to keep critical defence infrastructure safe and operational.

The role is full-time on-site at Coulport. You will work within a skilled team, carry out planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with mechanical systems in an industrial/maintenance environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance documentation and technical specifications.
• Experience in fault finding, defect diagnosis and repair of mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, COSHH requirements and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Diagnosing faults, identifying defects and implementing effective engineering solutions.
• Maintaining critical infrastructure in line with technical standards, safety requirements and operating procedures.
• Supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Assisting with team activities and providing guidance to apprentices where appropriate.
