Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer for a permanent role in the UK. The position covers Peterborough/Milton Keynes with a 40‑hour week and an on‑call rota.

Salary is £51,287.99 including standby and SLA incentives and a van, fuel card, tools, uniform, and IT equipment are provided. Responsibilities include prioritising maintenance, managing PPMs, updating paperwork, ordering parts, and liaising with GSMs to ensure smooth store operations.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship
• NVQ/C&G Refrigeration based qualification
• Approved training program
• Refrigerant handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate
• Skill card
• Full driving licence
• Experience using a PDA system
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Flexible to be part of the 24/7 on-call rota every 1:4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Identify non‑repairable faults promptly and advise the Line Manager with recommendations for suitable replacements.
• Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to laid‑down procedures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical and compliance paperwork.
• Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
• Advise GSMs of any repair, maintenance or installation issues that may affect store operations and build rapport to promote partnership with all GSMs.
• Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
