Job summary

Staffline is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer in Northampton to maintain, service and repair refrigeration equipment on major supermarket contracts. You will support HVAC systems containing refrigeration circuits and work nationwide on customer locations, following strict PPM schedules and safety protocols.

The role offers a 40-hour week, 25 days plus 8 bank holidays, and comprehensive assets including van, fuel card, tools, uniform and IT equipment.

Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent refrigeration training.
NVQ/C&G refrigerant handling qualification.
Refrigeration certification (2079) or CITB equivalent.

Responsibilities

Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales.
Identify non-repairable faults and advise on replacements.
Ensure PPM schedules and paperwork are compliant.
Maintain all technical and compliance documentation.
Order and fit parts as prescribed by procedures.
Inform GSMs of issues affecting stores operations.
Carry out surveys and prepare reports as required.

Refrigeration Engineer Northampton £51,287.99 (salary including on call standby 1:4 + 8% SLA) Permanent

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining, servicing and repairing refrigeration equipment in customer locations and providing assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities - Refrigeration Engineer

Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
Identify non-repairable faults promptly and advise the line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid‑down procedures.
Ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
Advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and promote a spirit of partnership with all GSM's.
Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor / RFM.
