Job summary

New Resource Group is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to install, service, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration at customer sites across your region. You will help keep equipment operational, minimize downtime and deliver top-quality service.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical and refrigeration faults, carry out maintenance and ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations, while providing strong customer service and working independently.

Qualifications

• F-Gas Category 1 Certification held and current.
• Proven experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Experience working with hydrocarbon refrigeration systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence and clean driving record.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Install and commission new refrigeration equipment.
• Carry out planned maintenance visits.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults.
• Work safely and comply with F-Gas regulations.

Job description

UK's leading supplier of catering equipment, commercial refrigeration, consumables, and hospitality supplies. Operating internationally, we support thousands of customers across the hospitality, catering, education, healthcare, and food service sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our expanding service team.

The Role

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration equipment at customer sites throughout your designated region. You will play a key role in ensuring our customers' equipment remains operational, minimising downtime and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Install and commission new refrigeration equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults.
• Work safely with both HFC and hydrocarbon refrigerants.
• Complete service reports and documentation using company systems.
• Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain van stock levels and company equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support.
• Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.

Essential Requirements

• F-Gas Category 1 Certification.
• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer within a commercial environment.
• Demonstrable experience working with hydrocarbon refrigeration systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Experience working on:
  • Commercial refrigeration cabinets
  • Bottle coolers
  • Display chillers
  • Freezers
  • Ice machines
  • Cold rooms
  • Catering refrigeration equipment
• Electrical fault-finding experience.
• Experience within the catering equipment or food service industry.
