Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to service and repair commercial refrigeration across Liverpool and Merseyside. You will diagnose faults and attend breakdowns at multiple sites, including supermarket or retail environments, working predominantly on-site and independently.

The role covers refrigeration pack systems, electrical and control systems, with 1 in 4 standby rota and a company van provided. Regional workload and ongoing training are included.

Qualifications

Job description

Salary: GBP51000 - GBP52000 per annum + Private Healthcare and Benefits

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping refrigeration systems running reliably across an established customer base in Liverpool, Merseyside and the surrounding area.

It's a field-based position where you'll work independently across your allocated sites, attending breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs.

You'll be working on a range of commercial refrigeration equipment, including refrigeration pack systems and associated electrical and control systems. Experience of supermarket or retail refrigeration would be particularly relevant.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Service, maintenance and repair of commercial refrigeration systems
• Fault finding across refrigeration, electrical and control systems
• Working on commercial refrigeration plant and pack systems
• Planned servicing and preventative maintenance
• Repairing and replacing faulty components
• Identifying defects and additional remedial work
• Completing service reports and job documentation
• Liaising with customers in Liverpool and Merseyside and site teams
• Participating in the 1 in 4 standby and call-out rota

What You'll Need

You'll need previous field experience as a Refrigeration Engineer, Commercial Refrigeration Engineer or Supermarket Refrigeration Engineer, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults without constant supervision.

You'll also need:

• Commercial refrigeration service and maintenance experience
• Strong breakdown and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on refrigeration pack systems
• Good refrigeration and electrical fault-finding knowledge
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience within supermarket or retail refrigeration would be particularly useful.
• Knowledge of CO2 refrigeration, transcritical CO2 systems or hydrocarbon refrigeration would also be beneficial, although this isn't stated as an essential requirement.
