Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Refrigeration Service Engineer for a 100% commercial refrigeration role covering Gloucester and surrounding areas. You will service and repair equipment such as cold rooms and ice machines, with a focus on on-site fault finding and customer service across hospitality and retail venues.

The position offers a permanent role with a strong salary, company van, and opportunities for technical progression, training, and development.

Qualifications

• Refrigeration apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent training.
• Current F-Gas / refrigerant handling certification (C&G 2079 or equivalent).
• Experience servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide service and maintenance on commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose faults on-site and carry out repairs to restore operation.
• Attend customer sites across Gloucester and surrounding areas.
• Maintain strong on-site communication with customers and keep records.

Salary: GBP47500 - GBP50000 per annum + Company Van, Paid travel, OT

Up to £48,260 | Paid Door to Door | No Supermarkets | Van with Private Use

Not every commercial refrigeration engineer wants to spend their working week on supermarket packs.

This role is different. The work is 100% commercial refrigeration with no supermarket sites, covering customers such as pubs, restaurants, clubs and convenience stores across Gloucester and the surrounding area.

You’ll be working on a varied range of refrigeration equipment including cold rooms, ice machines, bottle coolers and under-counter refrigeration, carrying out service, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.

The position is with an established refrigeration contractor offering a permanent role, a strong salary and plenty of opportunity to continue developing technically.

What will you be working on?

The customer base means there’s plenty of variety from one day to the next. You’ll attend commercial sites throughout the Gloucester area, diagnosing refrigeration faults and getting equipment back up and running.

Typical equipment will include:

• Cold rooms
• Ice machines
• Bottle coolers
• Under-counter refrigeration
• Commercial refrigeration systems
• Associated refrigeration controls and components

This is primarily a service and maintenance position, so you’ll need to be comfortable working independently, finding faults and dealing directly with customers on site.

What do you need?

We’re looking for an engineer with established commercial refrigeration experience and the appropriate refrigeration qualifications.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A refrigeration apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent recognised training
• Current F-Gas / refrigerant handling certification, such as C&G 2079 or equivalent
• Experience servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment
• Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
• Full UK driving licence

Experience with the types of equipment found within hospitality, leisure and smaller retail environments would be particularly relevant.
