Gilpin Hotel & Lake House in the Lake District is seeking a Breakfast Chef de Partie to lead morning service, craft refined breakfast dishes and elegant afternoon teas, and support exclusive guest experiences.

You’ll combine technical skill with creativity in a calm, luxury kitchen environment, working independently during breakfast and collaborating with the Lake House team to uphold Gilpin’s signature refinement and service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a fine‑dining or high‑end kitchen environment.
• Impeccable attention to detail and pride in presentation.
• Confidence working independently during breakfast service.
• Strong technical skills across hot breakfast, patisserie, and refined finishing.
• A calm, professional presence and positive attitude.
• Flexibility, initiative, and strong organisational skills.
• A willingness to embrace a varied role across breakfast, afternoon tea, and exclusives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the morning breakfast service with calm confidence, preparing and presenting elegant dishes.
• Create delicate afternoon teas featuring patisserie, savouries, and thoughtful finishing touches.
• Support bespoke menus for Lake House exclusives, celebrations, and intimate gatherings.
• Manage the flow of breakfast service, mise en place, and event support, ensuring seamless transitions.
• Refine flavour balance, plating, temperature, timing, and ingredient quality to meet luxury standards.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B to support guest movements and events.
• Demonstrate strong technical skills and mentor junior team members when required.
• Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen organisation.
