Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Sales Engineer in Peterborough to sharpen technical and commercial skills, take ownership of complex specifications and become the go-to technical expert for an engineering business.

You will work from initial enquiry through to quotation, producing technically robust proposals that meet customer requirements and support bids with accurate technical information. The role involves Monday to Friday (39 hours) with occasional travel to meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a technical engineering environment.
• Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and communicating with stakeholders.

Are you a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Applications Engineer looking for a role where you can sharpen your technical and commercial skills, take ownership of complex specifications and become the go-to technical expert for a respected engineering business?

On offer is a fantastic opportunity that provides long term development in a varied role, working from initial enquiry through to quotation and order, producing technically robust proposals that meet customer requirements.

You will be joining a global organisation known for quality, precision and continuous improvement, with the chance to work closely with a wider group network, OEMs, chassis manufacturers, bodybuilders and third-party suppliers.

In this role you will prepare technical drawings, specifications and weight calculations for body-mounted equipment, ensure compliance with chassis manufacturer requirements, support tenders/bids and resolve technical specification issues alongside Sales and Workshop teams.

This role would suit a technically minded engineer who enjoys customer interaction and problem solving, and wants to build long-term technical credibility in a business that values engineering-led solutions.

The Role

• Creating technical drawings, specifications and weight calculations for body-mounted equipment
• Supporting bids, tenders, proposals and quotations with accurate technical information
• Providing technical support across Sales, Sales Support and Workshop teams

The Person

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience in a technical engineering environment (e.g. sales engineering, applications, proposals, design/specification)
• Comfortable interpreting technical drawings/specifications and communicating with technical/non-technical stakeholders
