Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Sales Engineer in Peterborough to join a respected engineering business. You will take ownership of complex specifications and become the go-to technical expert, from inquiry through to quotation and order.

The role offers long-term development with training and career progression, working with OEMs, chassis manufacturers and suppliers. Monday to Friday, 39 hours, with some travel to meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a technical engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Create technical drawings, specifications and weight calculations for body-mounted equipment.
• Support bids, tenders, proposals and quotations with technical information.
• Provide technical support across Sales, Sales Support and Workshop teams.
• Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, with occasional travel to meetings/events.

Sales Engineer

Peterborough (Commutable from: Stamford, Huntingdon, Spalding, Corby, Kettering, Oundle, Market Deeping, Wisbech)

Are you a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Applications Engineer looking for a role where you can sharpen your technical and commercial skills, take ownership of complex specifications and become the go-to technical expert for a respected engineering business?

You will be joining a global organisation known for quality, precision and continuous improvement, with the chance to work closely with a wider group network, OEMs, chassis manufacturers, bodybuilders and third-party suppliers.

In this role you will prepare technical drawings, specifications and weight calculations for body-mounted equipment, ensure compliance with chassis manufacturer requirements, support tenders/bids and resolve technical specification issues alongside Sales and Workshop teams.

This role would suit a technically minded engineer who enjoys customer interaction and problem solving, and wants to build long-term technical credibility in a business that values engineering-led solutions.

The Role

• Creating technical drawings, specifications and weight calculations for body-mounted equipment
• Supporting bids, tenders, proposals and quotations with accurate technical information
• Providing technical support across Sales, Sales Support and Workshop teams
• Monday to Friday (39 hours per week) with occasional travel to meetings/events

The Person

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience in a technical engineering environment (e.g. sales engineering, applications, proposals, design/specification)
• Comfortable interpreting technical drawings/specifications and communicating with technical/non-technical stakeholders
