Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling Limited in Preston is seeking a Recycling Operative for a night shift pattern from 7:30pm to 7:30am, Monday to Thursday. The family-run business prides itself on sustainability and community impact, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork at the Preston Recycling Park.

You will sort recyclable materials, work across production lines as needed, and assist in depollution of ELVs, removal of catalytic converters, tyres, and batteries, while maintaining high housekeeping

Qualifications

• Experience on a picking line.
• Comfortable working in different aspects of a scrap yard.
• Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment.
• Reliable with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Health & Safety conscious.
• FLT experience (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Sort and pick through recyclable materials and operate on production lines as required.
• Assist in other areas of the business such as depollution of ELVs, removal of catalytic converters, tyres, and batteries.
• Carry out manual duties with heavy lifting and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas and support teamwork with clear communication.

Hours: 48 per week between 7:30pm-7:30am

Shifts:Monday - Thursday (12 hour shifts)

The Role:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Recycling Operative with to join our established team based at our Recycling Park in Preston.

What you will be doing:

• To sort and pick through recyclable materials
• To carry out duties and to work on all the production lines as required
• Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
• To assist in other areas of the business such as :
• Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs)
• Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
• Removing tyres
• Removal of batteries
• FLT duties (if experienced)
• Manual work with heavy lifting involved
• Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety policy and rules
• Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensuring area is always clean and tidy
